    Think I reacted too fast on this Tom, the Milners and Hobb's were definitely comparable albeit bigger, but the more I've looked at your Chatwood it is exceptionally heavy construction for its size, have to admit most were bigger and lightweights in comparison. The small scrapped one I had the lock off had similar looking hinges but strangely they were cast in brass IIRC.

    Yes indeed it has heavy brass hinges, painted black.
