Default Padlocks age? could this be 16th century?

i was given this padlock .. its made of Iron , though the iron isnt pure it has flakes of copper or bronze in it, hand made,
8x5x1cm with key, i think it could be 16th century going by the design, so hoping anyone could help with this?
