Unusual Old Lock
Greetings
Thought someone here may be familiar with this type of lock. As you can probably tell the key inserts into the slot at the top of the cylinder of the lock and is pushed downward to compress the spring steel tabs allowing the lower portion of the lock to slip out of the locking ring on the bottom. The lock appears to be brass or some other yellow metal. There is also intricate etching on the lock cylinder and the key and thin decorative metal added to the bottom portion of the lock. Please share any information you might have regarding its origin, age, commonality, value, etc. Thanks
