I've wondered how often a bank builds around an existing vault but I suspect it doesn't happen very often. Insurance companies might not like older vaults, and service/repair could be a problem. Bankers may prefer newer/flashier equipment, at least for what clients see. Newer stuff will be better alarmed and possibly more resistant to attack.

If I can catch Jumper some time on TV I'll try to take a look.

One you have probably all missed is called "the Newton Boys". It came out quite some time ago and never got really big, but was actually about a true gang from the 30s who traveled the US busting safes and doors.
My first hearing of it was a note over the fax machine (pre- e-mail, kids).
The set man heard we might have the parts they needed for their props. We did, and I watch them exploded across the set occasionally for fun. Check it out some time! Funny thing is Mosler got credits and we didn't, the bums!

Regarding Jumper, a good possibility is around the corner from the Emigrant Bank, the Postal Life building at 511 Fifth Avenue (across the street from 510 Fifth Avenue, the lovely Hanover Trust building with a Mosler door). Still a bank, here are some images from when it housed the Guaranty Trust Company (1916, http://www.emporis.com/building/post...orkcity-ny-usa):

The more I look at that single frame from Jumper, the less convinced I am of the location being 511 Fifth Avenue. Details are more consistent with One King West in Toronto, such as the location of the lower combination dial versus the bolt handwheel, and the width of the decorative metal that spans the day gate. I may have to rent the movie.

That does look a lot like One King West. Here's the Jumper image along with another image, note the details of the day gate like the shape of the latch handle.

Looks like they went to a fair bit of trouble to produce realistic looking Diebold doors in aluminium

Good call - the movies Red, Max Payne, and Jumper were all shot at 1KW: http://viewthevibe.com/heres-another...one-king-west/
