Lips Bramah-Vago lock
I posted this in LP101 last week with no replies so far.
Can someone tell me when Lips made the Bramah-Vago axial lock? It's the one featured in Eras' book "Locks and Keys throughout the Ages". The lock looks like a DC motor with about 30 sliders and a key with two levels of bittings in the tip end.The book appeared in about 1957 (I think). I'd like to hear from someone Dutch on this (apparently the lock is on display in the Lips museum).
Actually - that 1957 date should be 1941, the year the Ducth version of Eras' book appeared.
Was there an earlier version of Eras' book around 1920???
A patent reference for the Vago lock would make my day.
