The rules are changing here at Antique-Locks.com. Like any club group or society we take the Academic view. Also like Plato in ancient times we too meet in this forum in the hope of finding the truth or at least a consensus. But of course that understanding very often changes over time especially as new artefacts and/or documents come to light. To this end and so we can properly attribute acknowledgements to everybody involved in a thread as a contributor, even if the facts get updated, your input has helped get to the current viewpoint or understanding. Your contribution, whether a question or an answer to a question, now contributes to your academic reputation. Therefore we now only accept registrations that are ‘real names’ accompanied with ‘a current head & Shoulders picture’. Many have already upgraded and urge all existing members that haven’t yet upgraded to email me with your name (and any academic qualifications after your name) and a picture so that I can update your profile for you.

One or two members have asked: What are post nominals and do they have to be lock related?

A: No anything you have been awarded or erned can be added.

Here is the results of a google search for 'post nominals': They are letters placed after a person's name to represent a qualification or award they have achieved. They can be received from an award such as Academic Degrees (BS, MBA, PhD), professional licences and certifications (MCIOB, FCIOB, TechCIOB, CEnv), etc

This also includes Locksmith Association such as CML, MLA etc. and can also include non-lock related accreditations - you’ve earned it and we are happy to add it.
