Anyone know the story, or history of the Lips / Chubb Eloctro product ?

It popped into my head the other day and I recall it being launched when I was an apprentice but it seemed to fade away quite quickly ?

I think it was actually made by Lips. The keys had chips on them but I suspect it either didn't work or was ahead of its time.

Page 434 in Marc Tobias’s book briefly mentioned Chubb Electro.

Further info from Graham Pulford- I should have looked there first!
The Eloctro had a rectangular Keyway. It employed inductive code transmission so that no electrical contacts were required.

I must be having a blind moment as I could'nt see it in Pulford ..

Yes in 1992 I had just started in the trade.

Pretty sure we had a brochure on these going back, quite colourful illustrations iirc.
Unfortunately most 'general' stuff like that went out long ago and mostly older/rarer safe & vault stuff was kept, but if I do ever find it I'll post it here.
