Default Adam Savage's Miniature Vault Door Build

Once in a while there is a discussion here about building a model vault door. Now, Adam Savage (of MythBusters fame) is tackling such a project. I predict it will take him quite a while.

On YouTube, search for "Adam Savage's Miniature Vault Door Build" where he gets a good start on the core elements of the boltwork.

Stephane, would it help to turn on Closed Captioning (sometimes also called subtitles)? Perhaps seeing what he says will make things more clear, if you can read English as he speaks. I could not find a way to translate to French. Also, be aware the closed captioning is not always accurate!

    Hi gentlemen,

yeah very interesting! I am wondering whether he will just build the door without hinges and frame or the whole package. Cause the latter is much more complicated than the former As we all know I guess

    Best regards from Germany

The second part of his build was posted on YouTube. At the end he seems confused about a few things like cumulative error, blaming that for his apparent difficulty with assembly. But the temporary Plexiglass (Perspex) door looks nice.

I took a look into his videos about the vault door and I have to say, we work kind of similar. I can really relate to his thinking and his concepts... That doesn't mean I am as brilliant as he is, of course not. Just some characteristics of his working methods are similar
