    Default Tabernacle

    Good evening everyone , i have this small tabernacle i picked on my travels , im after a suitable key for it i made a key from a long hollow stem same size as the chubb cruiser but im after a decent key to suit the tabernacle brass and decorative, as the one i made is just cheap steel, can anyone please point me in the right direction , hope its ok to post on this page , thanks midnite

    Midnite, you’ve probably sorted this long ago as it’s over a year, but the usual practice with these was to cut the key on a standard blank and retrofit an ornate brass bow afterwards, as you’re unlikely to find a fancy brass blank in either pin or pipe of the right gauge you need.

    if this was 5 or 6 years ago you could have taken your pick as I had a box of cast rococo brass bows (really ornate!) plus antiqued finish in a range of styles but I sold the last of them off about 4 or 5 years ago. Think the ones we had were mostly silca from the late 1970s/early 80s.

    This sort of thing- not sure about the rococo bows but the blanks were all Italian Silca’s from memory, they probably still do them.
