Antique Russian Padlock
Hi, I am hoping that someone might be able to help me identify a lock belonging to one of my customers ( I have an antiques business .. ). It is a large, heavy cylindrical Russian lock about 4 inches long and about 2 inches wide. It has an ornate key ( about 3" long ) with cross shaped cuts. The keyhole is in the shape of a cross. There is small Cyrillic writing on the top of the hasp. Excellent condition, but the writing is rubbed. It looks to be iron. The lock was given to his father at the end of WW2 as a gift for helping a Greek family. The Greek man told his father that it was very rare. Thanks for any help.
