    Default Tann 4s lock

    Hi peoples.

not been on for a while. I got this Tann key changeable lock from a Tann vault door. Only ever seen 2 in the wild. One being on the biggest bank in the country.

I have seen 2 version and on one the back slide out wall can be turned over to make key retaining.

I am going to make a key for this or maybe 2 different differs so I can change it. I think it will make a nice cut away lock.

could any of you shed any light on the lock etc.

    thank you

    stu

This is not a 4S by the way which is just a straightforward (unpickable say some) 7-lever with a 'Reliance' Guarded Lever.

ID:	22331 P.S This excellent sketch was among a group of 1870's drawings by Hobbs Hart (John Matthias Hart probably) which detailed many of his contemporary competitors locks in similar fashion. Other drawings illustrated their experiments in drawing the temper from hardened plates by the use of hydrogen and oxygen blowpipe, the gases being contained in leather bags.

Thank you for your comments. Yes that’s the other type with the guarded lever this is the one I really wanted. Same footprint I think. Great info.
