As a matter of interest does anyone know whether the details of the Tags supplied by Chubbs are with the rest of the archive at the London Guildhall ?

The was no ' East ' Queen Victoria St, so no it cannot stand for East. Must be something else.

Possibly the postcode, QVS is now in EC4 (East Central 4) but in the early days there were no numbers, only letters, and E (East) covered the whole of East London. Dunno if EC existed in the early days. How old is your tag?
