Never seen detachable bits on this lock before. Look very dodgy as there's nothing obvious to prevent the bit detaching in the lock.

The bow carries the number 26696 which was the number of the Chatwood Diamond in the Tann Safe Museum which when it was acquired was minus the massive lock cover plate and the 9-lever Invincible keylock.

To demonstrate the principal I had a separate complete Composite lock and key with a handle and spindle attached to demonstrate the entire mechanism. After the Museum closed I learned that the safe had found it's way as far as Tyne & Weir bur I've no idea where it is now.

No I don't have the lock for it unfortunately. I have worked on that safe, but by the time I came across it the lock was missing and the fan levers pinned. The loose bit is held in with a circular spring clip.

I do have a spare inner lock to the size 2 fan lock but on both sizes That I have, they are 8 lever locks to add to the four “fans”.
i know where that carcass is, but we will see what happens with it!
