    Default Bramah key question

I have some old Bramah blanks and keys, whilst all the blanks have what I call the drive protrusion on the shaft of the key, only about 3 of the 30ish cut keys I have, have this drive protrusion. Did some of the older/smaller Bramah locks rely on the slider slot cuts to drive the rotation?

No, All bramah keys have had a bit.

Most likely the ones with the bit removed were used to open low grade locks. I'm sure I don't need to explain how that would be done.
