    Default Help with victor comptometer safe circa 1972

    Hello

    I recently acquired a brown safe made in the 70's I think. It belonged to my mom and she has been moved to elderly care . Is there anyway to recover the combination? The serial or model # is 72-5274.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Is the door locked shut or locked in the open position? If it's the first you'll need a safe technician to open it, if it's the second then someone familiar with them might be able to help.

    It has been locked and the dial spun I believe. Handle is down.

    Yes, but with the door shut or open? There's a massive difference- one is a locked shut safe with the combination lost, for which you'll need a safe tech to open. The other is an open safe with door locked open for which members can hopefully explain the procedure to reset it.
    If it's locked with the door open then post some pictures so everyone can clearly see it, if it's locked shut then unfortunetely it's scenario #1. Here's how to add pics;

    You have a Meilink Home safe. As far a retrieving a combo from the serial # is not possible. Your best bet is find a safe tech that can open it and set a combo. Hope it helps tim
