    1940-1950 maybe? cool
    i have 2 of these old refrigerators i keep my welding rod in with a 15 watt bulb
    i (barely)remember before these refrigerators we used real ice boxes
    nice

    Does look like cool safe. Here one the can look up in Antique Safe Refrigerators Wrap. look like they still made them. Just as long don't put food inside it.....Timothy....

    "Said to be fireproof". I wonder if anyone except the manufacturer says that.

    Nathan, my guess would have been similar to be honest, but I forgot to add in the OP that surprisingly it featured in October 1937s Popular Science, a fair bit earlier than I'd imagined.
    Amazing how many of these survive (albeit without the safe!) in garages and workshops used for tool storage like yours- an excellent solution to stop your welding rods going damp!

    Very nice Timothy, they definitely got the right size ratio of beer to ice cream- spot on!
