    Default milners 212 safe


    i nned advice on opening a milners 212 safe... would anyone be able to supply a replacement lock c/w keys?
    I have tried picking but unsuccesful.

    If opened with care (by drilling) there should be little or no damage to the lock which will allow it to be rekeyed.

    Here's a picture from the OP. There's no doubt it's a very old unit, I would say prior to 1890. Plus the lock appears to throw the bolts directly in the manner of previous strongboxes. As such the lock is not going to be any of the common Milner's patterns and as such may well be a Thomas Turner lock.

    If anyone has any images of those locks I am sure they would be of interest.

    I have managed to get this milners 212 safe opened successfully.
    It turns out it is a 6 lever lock with quite a few anti pick positions on all but one of the levers... name etc. I am not sure about. I have checked it for serial numbers inside but there is a 4 digit number on the bottom of the lockable drawer inside.
    I will post some pics of the lock internals later.
    The levers have numbers on some of them.
