    Default Dominion Safe

    Hi Folks,
Life got busy and finally have a chance to come on and share the safe that I managed to get, safe was going to be thrown away so i said i would take it.
I didn't really realize just how big it was nor how much it weighed. I got it onto my home with some work, wife wasn't too keen on it but has warmed up to it now.
The door was open so I easily got the combo, the pics don't show the drawers as they are out, the safe itself is solid and works fine, very decent shape.
We have moved and this is one of the last items we haven;t moved yet as I'm not sure how as getting it out is much harder as it has to go up stairs. Getting it in was easy as gravity basically got it down stairs.
How does one move a safe upstairs? This safe is quite heavy, not sure how much it weighs.

Here is the the safe pictures.

It is certainly harder when you have got Isaac Newton working against you!

First thing I would do would be lift off the door. That will lighten the load. Then put some heavy timbers on the stairs. Get some heavy nylon straps around the safe. Use a block and tackle or a comealong to winch it up the stairs on its back.

Easiest way is to get a jack under it.

It has the added advantage that if you do drop the body, you aren't going to do any damage.

Got the door off and safe loaded into the trailer, thanks for the great advice!
How would I tell what year this safe was made? If came from a building that was made in the 1970's, I suspect it would be close to that for age.

It's not rocket science. The thing is to think it through ahead, have all the gear and bodies you need and take it carefully and slowly.
