Hello everyone,

I am trying to find out some information about a lock for my Grandfather. He used to be a Joiner, and the lock came from an old school which he was helping to refurbish many years ago.

The school was built over 100 years ago and he reckons that the lock was an original fitting back then.

It is a 2 lever lock, and the handles were similar in style to a Suffolk Latch. The front of the lock is brass and has some markings at the top which are:

THE IDEAL
REGD No
587670

If anyone out there has any ideas on who the maker is or how old the lock is, I would be extremely grateful if you could let me know.

I can probably add some photos if that would be useful, depending if anyone has any ideas :D

Thank you,

Regards
