Barron and others found lots of interesting and novel ways to apply this principal. Bring examples of your own locks or refer to those in the Heritage Rooms. There is allways time after a meeting for further socialising & networking.

]Here is another one which was included in the locks from Harry Miller. Based on my limited experience probably the same basic design for hundreds of years.
Also look carefully at the keys. A general similarity of style in manufacture will soon become apparent, the same whether the lock is anonymous, or a 'Hobbs' or even a 'Chobbs' lock. And (still)...
If the OP found this lock in East Anglia (he says a local market), then German/Low countries / France as origin need not be so surprising.

Nicely made key! That lock also shows cleverly designed warding, which would be difficult to skeleton.
