Default A Confused Yale Flat Steel Drawer Lock

This little Yale has moved around the shelves in the shed for years, so I finally picked it up to cut a key, and had a bit of amusement when I looked closer at it.

Seems normal enough at a glance, albeit brass 'finish' and not all solid brass

Then noticed it has YALE REGISTERED TRADE MARK, but for some reason also in Spanish, MARCA REGISTRADA

But then, on the front, it's marked very faintly.....MADE IN GERMANY!

That could be the result of when it was made. Before the EU, and even after, certain countries honor the trademarks from the US, and some don't. Looks like they were covering their bases.
