    Default Safe Identification.

Good Morning, i was hoping someone could verify for me what model this safe is. i Think it is a Tann Super Bankers. It is for sale in Dallas Tx. The plaque on the inner door says the name Tann and underneath says Jewelers. The numbers on the middle bolt are stamped 87250. I believe it was marketed as a TBT super jewelers, and was imported around the 1980,s from Sweden. Can anyone tell me if this is the same as the TBT, Tann Super Bankers that was sold in the UK.

Hello jaden, from what little Tann info I have, TBT is the bolt code for the Bankers Treasury, but their serial numbers ran from 88xxx onwards.

The Mk9 version Bankers numbers ran from 86xxx onwards, so it could be one of those, and like you say marketed as a 'Super' Bankers.

Im sure safeman will know for definite and have more info for you.

The Older jewelers line of safe that you are asking about is a Dark blue jewelers TST.
The key way cover is also early version TST , also the paint is smooth and glossy . Any questions please pm . Hope this helps Tim

    Default Tann Jewellers.

Sorry but can't help as most of my records end around 1974.

These safes were not likely to have been exported from Sweden as they were made in the Tann factory at Borehamwood Hertfordshire. The manufacturing code should be on the bolt head above the serial number but there could be minor differences to the specification to suit the US market such as XRay protection in the lock area.
