    Default Does anybody know what this key is

    I found this key at an estate sale
    ithe top part is silver plated over brass
    i have not seen anything like it before any information is most appreciated

    Not sure, but perhaps the key bow (bit you hold) is not original and has been repaired at some time, the key bit reminds me of Kromer, but I am only guessing.

    99% sure that'll be a Tabernacle Safe key.
    Perhaps the double bitted versions on your side of the pond were from Italy or elsewhere in Europe, i really don't know.
    It's strange, as even the most stunning ornate examples I worked on over here only had single bit keys with pretty basic block safe locks.
