    Default Help with S&G 6730

Hi guys. I am not a locksmith but I would like to salvage this S&G 6730 combo lock. How do you separate the dial from the lock? I just don't want to break it. I have found all kinds of instructions on the lock itself but not on how to remove the dial. It was part of a safe within a safe that I am making into a gun safe.

The spindle from the dial screws into the cam over the lock and is prevented from unscrewing by a spline key, look at the bottom of the cam/spind;e in the second picture. Pull this out and then you can unscrew the spindle from the cam.
