Default Norwalk lock - broken flat spring

I'm trying to determine where the broken flat spring goes. See attached photo showing 2 pieces but almost seems like there was a third broken piece.
Without the flat spring the latch bolt does not stay extended.

Any thoughts on where a replacement flat spring needs to be installed?

If it can be determined, I thought I might get a flat spring assortment or try to cut it from some sheet metal. I realize this would not be a perfect fix.

    Thanks.

This seems to have worked for now using stiff plastic strips from an old credit card placed as shown - until I can get proper flat spring.

Hudson/ESP Lock offers a No. FSA-50 (AKA No. ODDFSA-50-000) flat spring steel assortment used in making springs for various mortise locks which contains:
    • steel 0.025" x 0.0625" x 6"
    • steel 0.025" x 0.125" x 6"
    • stainless 0.025" x 0.187" x 6"
    • stainless 0.025" x 0.250" x 6"
    • steel 0.025" x 0.312" x 6"

Lots of sources on the Internet if .025" thickness will work for you.
