    Default antique yale combo manipulation

I am working on a 1912 vault door with large Yale combo locks on it. I am trying to figure out the combo. But it seems the back cover won't come off in the locked position (I assume the wheel packs are on the covers) I have thoiught about drilling a sight hole in the rear cover. But the owner isnt keen on that. Any tips/suggestions on this? Thanks

The lock caps will be locked on, and you cannot generally remove them without the combination, can you describe the locks, or provide dimensions or a picture ?

The only solution may be to drill a small hole in the cap, do you have a borescope ? Either way if you can ID the model I may be able to provide a picture of the lock mechanism.
