    Default chatwood cylinder keys

Anyone have any idea what these may have been used for?

My guess would have been for a firefile or something similar, but the keys are identical except for the chatwood number, so I assume individual keys of a numbered set, so whatever It was had a lot of keys out for it.

ID:	17836The nightsafe lock shown all had this key (MB= Midland Bank)and the little lock is off the pan of an emergency escape door while there may have been safe deposit boxes that used a cylinder key after the move to Shrewsbury in 1928. I think that their office cupboard ranges of cabinets and cages are the most likely answer.

ID:	17838I forgot to show you the other side of the key that would seem to date yours at the same time as the deposit drops

Cheers Tom, I have some of those locks somewhere, but didn't know what they were off.

I have the bronze deposit frame and door which this lock fits on, but if you came across the complete thing I would be very interested.

I saw one in the middle of Manchester near the old Corn Exchange on the corner of the bank.
