It's been my experience, and as a general rule, this type of offset hinge with bearings would be indicative of HHM. The more years I spend researching cast iron safe identification, it seems the less I really know.

I wonder if this is a private labeled safe? It surely doesn't look anything like the typical M&B with these hinges, BCH, and dial. The word "Continental" across the top of the door refers to the style of safe. Continental's usually had a surface mounted bolt work mechanism that worked in conjunction with a Yale 024 comb lock with a slotted bolt.

Typical M&B safes externally looked different and utilized the Yale 062-1/2 and S&G 6800 series locks. The ones with the 062-1/2 had a free spinning BCH when locked.
