    Question Proper name for this style door handle & lock?

    Hi all

    Trying to figure out the proper name for this style lock... handleset? Thumb lock? Locking entry handle????

    Appears to be Yale exit device trim, likely 533F; pull x cylinder x thumbpiece x excutcheon

    AHA, so a commercial item? Possibly other side would be a "crash bar"?

    Yes, but proper terminology is exit device:
    exit device
    n. a door lock/latch mechanism which releases in the direction of exit travel via a bar or panel extending across the major width of the door*

    *from LIST Council Professional Locksmith Dictionary

    Eaton Yale & Towne on key bow would date it from 1963-1979.

    Ah, ok. My boyfriend does indeed always say "exit device", and it is his fault I have this thing to sell for him! Any idea what vintage? Slightly older logo style.

    As I indicate in my previous post: Eaton Yale & Towne on key bow would date it from 1963-1979.
