The bright circle under the Equitable's builders plate may not be a combination dial...

there are similar bright circles on the Remote Combination Viewers of these unidentified main and emergency vault doors:

It looks like the emergency vault door's bright circle has a key hole in it. Could this be a lock to prevent the combination dials from spinning or the to prevent the pressure system hand-wheel from spinning?

These are the only doors I have found with three combination dials on the RCVs.

Mystery solved! I think...the 'bright circles' are probably the RCV light switches. I am making this assumption based on the pics I just received of the emergency vault door at the Philadelphia Federal Reserve vault:

The first two pics are the only remote combination viewers I know of with triple combination dals.

Pics 1 and 3 show pressure bars running thru the crane hinge. All other pressure bars either run behind or in front of the crane hinge.

Pic 4 is the JP Morgan vault

The Cleveland Federal Reserve emergency door also has the bubbled crane hinge. Not sure why they were designed this way, perhaps so the doors could swing 360° for maintenance?

This was a previously unidentified vault and I just found a pic confirming it is a remote combination viewer vault at the Minneapolis Federal Reserve:

I found another remote combination viewer vault located at the Boston Chops restaurant in the former Old Colony Trust Co. building in Boston, MA:

The Drury Plaza Hotel, formerly the Cleveland Federal Reserve Bank - Pittsburgh branch, has three vault doors. One is a remote combination viewer vault and the others appear to be a little undersized for fed vault doors... I haven't seen these vault door types in federal reserves before:

Of the Drury Plaza doors, the third one is particularly interesting --

There doesn't seem to be any manual pressure system or boltwork handle; it looks like an automated system judging by the buttons next to the pin. There is an eagle emblem near the top of the door and stars near the bottom. My suspicion is that this is an HHM 5-star Constellation, discussed in a different thread: https://www.antique-locks.com/showth...-Constellation
