Default Searching for any info on this "digital" lock w/ "rocking K" logo

Hiya, hoping you can help me identify and date this lock I found at a flea market. I was able to figure out the combination by trial and error. Main body is made of steel; hexagonal number knobs are not steel or iron. There is a number stamped on the top, 1P30. The size is 2-5/8 inches wide x 3 inches tall x 5/8 inch thick.

I have spent some time searching online and haven't found anything even close. Thanks in advance.

    Karen

I'm just guessing but it looks Soviet-era Russian and the 1P30 would be the price, 1 Ruble and 30 Kopecks.

    Thanks. Sounds definitely plausible.

Some of the former Eastern Bloc countries also had quite strong manufacturing industries and the products were of similar styles and influence.
Your padlock certainly has the "Soviet-era Russian" look as wylk put it, but I would also add the possibility that it could be from Czechoslovakia, Romania, Hungary or Poland.

Regarding the markings being the price of the padlock permanently stamped on the case, I'm guessing too, but would think thats very unlikely, considering the incredible levels of inflation that many of those countries endured.

Good luck with it, it's certainly an unusual and interesting design

There were two earlier threads about Russian locks that stated prices were stamped on products in this way --

I don't think it's anywhere near as old as I was thinking- there are others with a black japanned finish which look to be very recent if not new. It's certainly an unusual design using the hexagon bar for the wheels though.

Could be a modern take on something like this

I did finally find another lock just like this one on Ebay, identified as Soviet era Russian. It sold for $67.

Thanks to all who have replied, very interesting reading. Until today I knew absolutely nothing about Russian padlocks!
