    Default Banbury Stock Lock

Hi I had posted in the Miscellaneous Questions area but probably better off here. I would like to just cross post this as the information here would be more beneficial as a Pre Industrial Revolution subject.

I was just looking at a post by crafties and member BBE submitted a couple of pictures in post #10 that very similar to mine. Some dimensional and assembly differences. Mine also has a 181 stamped on the edge and appears to be an early font. Can this 181 be a clue to it's age or maker? When were numerical stamps used in manufacturing?

I've seen that sheet iron decoration on other locks, but not noticed one with a bushed keyhole with bullet wards. Maybe this is an American-made lock?
