    hi all, I acquired this from the local natwest which has recently closed down and wonder if anyone could tell me anything about it as i know very little about it but think it was for deeds it has a serial number; 43592.
    it has two sets of keys with it

    I have heard those referred to as a "Convertibles cupboard". They were used to store items of no intrinsic value but which needed to be kept under dual control such as cypher books etc.

    A very unusual item. Nice find.
