Hi all, does anybody know who made a dreadnought safe ? Or were there many different makers who made them ?

Apart from the Underfloor Safe of the same name I only know of one Dreadnought and that was made by John Tann
    from1912 until 1932.

The plate ythat you illustrated was probably attached to a safe made by one of the many makers of light safes in the Midlands during the late 19th and early 20th Century.

    Default Dreadnaught safe

Thanks for that interesting information. I notice on the safe in the ad you posted has a Tann safe plaque on the inside that I have never seen before. Just another to seek out for the collection, when will this addiction (hobby) ever end. Thanks again, respect!
