Default A bit off topic but....

.... my pallet jack actually has a scale on it. How is that for a useful gimmick?

It has always been my experience to avoid pallet jacks on wheeled safes. Always keep the center of gravity as low as possible. Oil the axles, clean the wheels, get a mule for steering (look it up on mcmastercarr.com if you dont know what a mule is), and roll on. If the safe is on the sixth floor, it probably came up the service elevator. Get with the building manager or the elevator company that maintains it. They can (often) boost the capacity temporarily. Use plywood to roll over to protect the floors, and a 16 gauge sheet metal plate to go over the gaps and rough spots. BpS

Thank you all for your input and suggestions!!! Your insight is invaluable. We were thinking of using a heavy duty truck jack to hoist it up and then to utilize the pallet jack. We have moved the safe a good distance within the unit and does not appear to have any damage to the flooring, but the plywood idea will be a handy trick moving forward to protect surfaces. We'll keep you posted, should be interesting!!
