Default Help identify a found key

This key was found on an old U.S. Army post, I believe it is either a pad lock key or footlocker key from the late 1800's or early 1900's. I cant make out the makers mark, but it is stamped with "Brooklyn NY".

I'm guessing it's all that is left of an ancient padlock key!
