Default Identification of figural #3 key.

I recently discovered this unusual form key. I am trying to ascertain function and possible meaning/use of the #3.
    Brass, 1/4" X 2 3/8" long, 7/16" dia. barrel

I remember bleed keys for home radiators with similar ends but guess other valves might use similar keys.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Maybe used on a stringed musical instrument of some sort?
