Seeking information on large heavy brass or bronze cast padlock. This lock is like the one on page 50 & 51 of the national locksmith guide to antique padlocks by Jack Roberts. This lock has steel or iron shackle with no marking. The rivets are steel or iron. Looking at the front of the lock on the left side there are 2 rivets in lock body. On right side 2 rivets in lock body & larger rivet at top right for the shackle. The trap that covers the key hole is hinged at the bottom same as the book shows. This trap has spring loaded dust cover others call it a drop. Its spring loaded & swings to the left side. At the top of the trap is patent aug. 5. 73 on the lock body left side of trap in middle is stamped T.SLAIGHT PATENT NOV. 29.69 NEWARK N.J. On the right side of the trap in the middle of lock body is stamped U.S. INT.REV. On the back of the lock it is raised down the middle of the lock body. Looks like solid trap. Thanks for any help.
