    Default Mystery combo item

Hi all, can anybody tell me what this object is? It has a combination that I eventually cracked through trial and error. The combo stops the top being pushed in and its got a kind of tactile feel to it as if it's shaped to be hand held but other that all I know is it came with some locks I bought and I'm puzzled to what it is. Thanks and hope someone can enlighten me .

Looks like a handle off of James Bond's 007 umbrella careful with it, you might blow something up. On a more serious note, it looks like a handle grip, maybe for some piece of equipment that is to have authorized access. On the side, is that a set screw? And is the hole next to it threaded? Is the end opposite the combo hollow like it would slip over a pipe or handle?.Good job figuring out the combo. One other thing, are there any patent numbers on it anywhere? Mark

Hi again, thanks for the suggestions! I've tried to picture the inside for you by shining torch into it. The hole next to the threaded one is not threaded, on the top of the push down button says'made in england pat pending' there is no numbers anywhere on it. The black coating is textured under magnification. When you look inside and push the top down the silver part inside comes down.

Sorry I forgot to say yes it is some form of set screw but it looks like something has been cut or filed off. Thanks, Mark.

The more I look at the pictures, the more I'm convinced that it's gotta be something from James Bond's Aston Martin. Maybe the passenger seat ejection lever, disquised as the parking brake lever. What ever it is, I like it. Mark

I think it would fit an Aston Martin...

Here's an image of a similar handbrake lock:
