Good chance that is it. The patent document pictures and what gets made under the patent are not always the same.

Sorry guys, I didn't get an email notifying of more responses. That patent picture looks extremely close if not exact.

The only thing may look differ as the patent drawing show it square box and your picture show half circle box. As we don't know what look like inside the lock as i do believe is hole change wheel. just maybe the do have an up-date patent number for it with differ drawing. BY the way are you selling this as i see it on eBay can't believe the price for it....Timothy....

Tim, I am selling it on Ebay. I collect police related memorabilia but bought the box of these locks because I have never seen one before. My rule is, if you haven't seen it before, buy it. You may never see another. I am no lock expert but can't find another one like it. That is why I asked for opinions on value. I would hate to put it out there at too low of a price. If it doesn't sell this go around, i'll drop the price and let the bidding decide its value.

Just lucky you found it as you are right as never see it before. As for the price that would be up to people buying it. I have see some padlock gone up to $3000.00 or more has no key for it. It really surprise me as sometime thing just pop up and wonder where it come from all these year as we don't know about. I has been locksmith for about 25 years have see a lot of padlock and safe. This is why I love about "The Anique-Lock.com" as learning about all these lock from other people that they have for whatever they doing with it. Good lucky on your lock hoping to see some more old lock to look at...
