Default Help needed in identifying my key.

    Hi there,

I inherited this key from my grandfather and am just trying to work out where it may have come from.
There are no markings on it and it is 15cm long (see pictures)

When it was given to him he was told that it has some connection with the crypt of Margaret "Peg" Woffington, the famous English actress who lived from 1720-1760. Does this era match up with this style of key?

Any help in identifying/veryfing this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Tim

It appears from the photo to be highly polished chrome. If it is chrome or brass then it will not be old.
It also appears to have the warding cuts cast in rather than individually cut-this does not mean that it couldnt be old, but it would not be as old as you hope
    Regards
    Tom
