Default Hi, Folks! Kluczarz is here ;)

    Hello, Everyone!

They call me 'Kluczarz' - it can be translated as 'Key - holic' (?) or something like that ;); (in polish 'klucz' means 'a key').

I've been collecting keys of all types for many years (I started, when I was a kid) and today I probably have one of the biggest and most interesting key - collections in Poland.

I'm here to learn more about keys and share my knowledge, if it can be helpfull to You.

I don't speak english very well (I apologise!), but I hope it will not disturb.

Below, I present some of my keys to introduce them into a wolrd - wide key community ;)

    Best regards!
    Kluczarz

    Hey, Adrian!
    Nice to meet You! :)

Firstly I'm going to read some information about keys on this forum.
It's very hard to find any literature about keys in Poland, so - I think - my knowledge is incomplete.
I base mainly on my own reference material, but it's not enough of course.
I was looking for more information many times on the Internet and now I've found this forum - that's great! ;)

I'm also going to ask about some keys I have; and maybe post some photos of extremly rare keys because it could be interesting to You :)

Do you know the book "Locks and Keys throughout the ages"?

I believe there is a German book about keys too but I can not remember its name at present.

No, but I'll look for it :)

Firstly I'm going to read 'A Treatise on Fire and Thief proof Depos' by George Price.
That's important because it allows me to construct some thesaurus of key/locksmith terminology in english, which might be helpfull in communicate here and reading further :)

I'm going to buy Viking chest key (about 10th century), roman key ring (1th - 3th century) and some special key from India this year.
Wanna have more medieval keys of any type :)
    I'm also interested 16th - 18th century chest keys.
There's some kind of folding keys I'm looking for. I've seen only 3 or 5 of that kind in my life; now I have 3 of them.

And I dream on ancient Assyrian and Egyptian keys! But it's nearly impossible to find this type of artifacts :)

Welcome aboard. I don't collect many keys but I do have a few. Nothing old just different.
