    Talking Elzett 1200 padlock

    Hi all,

my husband found an old padlock while clearly out his grandmothers house (after she passed away). Does anyone know when these padlocks were made... Elzett is written on the back and on the key, the front has 1200 molded into it.

any assistance would be greatly appreciated

I would take a wild guess an date the padlock 50s - 70s
This should be the padlock you are talking about:

There was a time when I also had no idea what Elzett is, this was when a acquired this neat padlock:

    Hey Dizzy,

as I pointed out before it is the Elzett 1200 padlock. A small simple padlock with a warded meachnism, not actual levers. Nice piece but also nothing special. The link does not seem to work any longer. There was also the 1400 padlock which was a bit bigger but had the same mechanism.
