    Default Old Lock

    I found this padlock in junk shop in penang malaysia about 35 years ago and was wondering if any one had any information about it Thank you

    Typical indian type. All markings look good but mean nothing. Probably nothing like as old as it looks.

    Thanks for the reply Oldlocks you say its not very old but the marking have a VR on thats Victoria Regina so it must have been made in her reign and she as been dead for 100 years.

    Thats if you believe the markings. I could make a lock today and stamp VR on it, and it would still mean nothing. Indian & other locks of that region are commonly stamped with all kinds of marks. And none of it means anything !!
