This space, Antique-Locks.com, is an ever-evolving resource for those interested in the history and development of locks and keys. Its the official forum of the History of Locks Museum

It explores the art and craft of the locksmith from antiquity to the present and even sometimes speculating on the future as well, the journey is both fascinating and appealing. The study of locks and keys is also a study of human nature and social conditions. As such there are many different branches of specialty. This is reflected in the various forums created, I’m sure more will be created as further areas of specialty are identified and/or requested.

This forum welcomes all disciplines in the world of locks and keys, such as industrial archaeology, historians, archivists, social commentators as well as those looking at social issues insomuch as locks are concerned and of course we welcome the locksmith professionals in the lock world. Its hoped you are inspired to join in this community. Membership includes a quartely 18 page newsletter and other benefits including dating information from our world class Archive for Chubb, Milner, Hobbs and Tann serial numbers.
