    Default Hollar/Mosler plate

Here's a Hollar/Mosler plate currently on eBay, the seller states it came from a large round door made in 1924. The seller is in Philadelphia but did not state where the door is/was.

Sometimes when I see something like this on eBay I cringe a little, wondering whether the door was vandalized to remove the item (bad) or whether the item was rescued from a door about to be scrapped (good).

As an interesting detail, note it was made by Mosler in New York but it was almost assuredly built in Hamilton, with New York simply being the sales office that facilitated the contract.

Tom, one of these days you are going to have to post some pictures of where you keep all these plates... and how you show them off.

£170 - hey ho, I will have to go and cut a few more keys.
it would be a security weakness if I let that secret out Dean :-)
    - I have over 1000 in addition to the Chatwood collection.
they will all go online one day and get securely displayed too... One day
