Default Chubb Duel Control Vault Lock

For sale is a Dual Control Gate Lock which was made in September 1963 (the #369 in the photos when read from right to left gives this date) and designed to be used on the internal grille gate of a Bank Vault. The letters 'AO' identify the Locksmith as Tom Sadler, who completed 50 years service with Chubb. The lock comes with a key (not known if its the original) and is in full working order. If interested please contact me via this thread or by my personal e-mail (minimorgs6@hotmail.co.uk). The locks works perfectly and is currently on a bank vault gate which can be sold together or separately.

    Hi

While I am not personally interested in the purchase of your lock, I am however very interested to know the makers mark = name of locksmith. Do you have any other examples of such marks and their makers ?

    Hi

After speaking with a lock specialist I was told that the letters represented the gentleman's name. He knew this because he worked closely with the locksmith himself, that's the only reason. Sorry I can't be more help.

Unless of course the £50 postage cost is for the entire gate as well as the lock?

Yes it is. The postage cost is for the entire gate with lock although it has been change for the lock only now at £10.00.
