Default Wanted, Chubb & Son's safe plate.

I recently acquired an 1883 Chubb safe, however the safe plate is unfortunately missing.

Dimensions of the plate area are: 12.5 x 9cm.

If anybody has a suitable plate, pressed or cast brass, please get in touch.

The member you want to talk to is Tom. If there is one to be had he might know where if he doesn't have it himself.

No problem I am sure, but it would help to have a picture of the door and the exact measurement from the centre of one fixing hole to the centre of the other one.
    Cheers

Thanks Tom. I've attached a picture of the door. Measurement from the centre of one fixing hole to the other equals 11.4cm.

    Cheers, Fraser.

    Hi Frazer
No ignore the private message as to St Pauls Churchyard it will almost certianly be on with Queen Victoria Street address on the plate.

    Hi Ant,

Yes, the Queen Vic street address is on the escutcheon, hence the plate would have had this address too.

The measurement from the centre of fixing hole to hole is 11.4cm.

    Thanks again, Fraser.

Yup 4.5" was a common dimension for Chubb. Here are a few options -the shape seems right except perhaps at the top point

Thanks for this Tom. The bottom one on your picture looks the most appropriate for the safe and in a nice condition. Please let me know the cost.

    Thanks, Fraser.
