    Default One King West Miniature

Here's as far as I've got with a small one king west door I've been working on-

It's quite small at 85 mm diameter, but I've tried to get in as much detail on the back. The timelock's still bare metals here, but will be painted in the right colours on final assembly.

This one's going to be mounted upright on a base with front detail to include hinge carriages, complete pressure bar system with hand wheel etc. About 55 or 56 hours (I think) so far, and I haven't even made a start on the front

Rivets are tiny steel round heads- had to alter the number and spacing slightly from the full-size door

Pressure mechanism cams are both turned, milled and hand filed in 316 stainless steel- the hinge side cam is shaped to link into the 'U' bracket on the frame as per full size, and the locking side cam has the tiny slot to engage the pin on the frame controls as per full-size. Both turn freely on their pivots for display.

The pressure bar stanchions were rough milled in aluminium and then filed and finished by hand, pressure bar itself is 316 stainless.
Undecided on the surface finish for the front of the door- it's still pretty rough here but can't decide whether to polish it or give it an even satin finish.

I keep trying to get better photos as these miniature doors always look far better in your hand than in the pics, but no matter what the light conditions theyre either too dark and shadowed or the flash cuts in and washes everything out!

Does the door rotate atop the base?
