It would seem the Science Museum in London has seen fit to close the lock exhibit which included the Bramah shop facade. There is a new door indicating construction works for the area are in progress and no signs giving any information whether this is permanent.

The few locks scattered among other exhibits on the ground floor are still in place.

Dear friends and valued visitors! Due to the corona pandemic, our museum, like all other museums in Austria, is temporarily closed. In order to encourage you to visit virtually, we have changed our homepage somewhat. On the first page you can now see a 3D video about the museum. Here you can comfortably walk through all rooms from home and look at the showcases. https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=n7j7pMxUShH

If you are interested, you can then study our "Object of the Month". Of these, 9 are also available directly on the first page. All the other 39 selected pieces from the Schell Collection can be found under the "View into the Museum" button, then please click on the "Object of the Month" button. All articles are richly illustrated and offer comprehensive background information on the individual works of art.

I didn't see a mention of the Edinburgh mound, which features Deacon Brodies Tavern (too soon?) and, further down the mound is the Museum of Money, housed inside the headquarters of the Bank of Scotland. Although not directly about locks, there are a lot of locks, and lots of the history of locks and bank and other robbery, and, of course, lots about the antics of William Brodie and his seemingly endless crime spree whilst the top Edinburgh locksmith and alderman of the city! They have some of his picks, his special lamp, and more. There's a lot of strong boxes, as well as some fascinating stuff about forgery and detection of it.
Well worth a look when things are a bit more normal.
